I have an Ideal Classic LXFF280 boiler which has decided to run cool.
It appears to operate in a normal way in that it fires up runs for a while, rads get warm and then the flame goes out for a while then it comes back on and seems to modulate properly but at a lower temp. The temp of the flow pipe is low - I can easily grip it. Its like the boiler has decided that it no longer wants to work at 90C and now likes more of a 50C temp.
My suspicions are on the temp sensor (am I right in assuming that this is the thermistor?).
I have checked the pump etc and there is a good flow. It is not a pressurised system and the boiler is about 10years old.
Has any one seen similar? If so what was wrong in those cases?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.
