My Ideal ICOS HE18 boiler has developed this issue - FL fault.
The PCB was replaced and the issue became intermittent for around a week. The boiler sometimes fires up and the burner goes off after a few seconds then the process restarts again. But recently it hasn't been firing up at all, after 3 or 5 attempts the FL error appears.
Any help would be much appreciated

At one point the user controls display went blank with no power. It was replaced as recommended by the gas-safe engineer

I appreciate your help! I was seeking information about a similar experience, though I understand that each situation is unique.

I as a Gas Safe engineer would never say to end user to do this, that or the other

What is this similar experience
Knowing what is involved in replacing this PCB, I am surprised a Gas engineer would suggest you replace the PCB especially the nature of the lockout.

Im not sure it was replaced for lockout @DP, I think it’s either reared its head afterwards or when it was replaced?

The PCB replacement wasn't done for the lockout but due to an issue that appeared afterwards.
Investigation into the FL error is ongoing, with the gas-safe engineer due back tomorrow

Hello all, the gas engineer noticed an issue with Drayton digisat wireless system which was manufactured back in 2007. This was replaced and the boiler worked fine for the rest of the day yesterday - hot water and central heating.

I just got home from work a few minutes ago, and the boiler was showing a concerning LF error. I managed to reset it, and the boiler started up for a couple of minutes before displaying a 'C' with the burner icon turned off. After that, the fan also stopped. The hot water was scheduled to be on earlier, but it clearly failed as the water was cold, and the error appeared before I got home.

The boiler seems to run continuously when the central heating is on, but if the hot water is on by itself it keeps shutting off and restarting.

Could it be the thermostat on the hot water cylinder that’s telling the boiler to stop burning or the programmer next to the boiler?!

Any help is much appreciated.

The boiler burner seems to run continuously when the central is on by itself. If the hot water is on by itself it’s a stop/start process, the boiler shows C with the burner off, and upstairs the pump and zone valve stay on. After a few minutes the boiler burner restarts the hole process…

Regarding the FL error there’s no pattern as to when it appears!

Thank all in advance for any help

Hi all, I’m still no further with this random FL error.
Ideal unfortunately won’t come out to carry out repairs as the boiler is quite old now. Can anyone please recommend what to check/replace next?
Gas Valve, spark generator!
Many Thanks
