I know this post is years old but thank you so much to not good at fault finding and kat and chris for their advise, I know nothing about boilers or DIY so I was 5 minutes away from ringing a plumber as our heating wouldn’t work after not turning it on for over 6 months but then tried your guys method and it works! You have saved me probably hundreds of pounds!
If anyone wants to know what we did -
Googled what a silver pump screw head was first of all as I had no idea!
Completely removed the big silver screw head (some water came out but just grab a towel and be careful ours was hot)
Turned the small screw inside a few turns until it felt loose and screwed the head back on.
Worked isntantly!
