My boiler is not working.
There is no sign of life at all on the control panel - no lights, no fault codes illuminated, it is just dead.
I have tried switching the mains power off and on, and the boiler switch off and on again, but nothing. All I can hear is a quiet whirring noise as if there is something going on inside. But as I said, to look at it, it looks like it is dead. Is it possible that a fuse somewhere has gone?
We have had nothing but trouble from this boiler and it is only 3 years old. Please help

Sadly an all to common story with any Ideal boiler

You could check the fuse at the switched fuse outlet, then on left of pcb about half way up, but I bet they are both ok and it is the pcb.

I wish customers would start writing in to watchdog about Ideal boilers, like they did over the suprima pcb faults etc.

They'll only blame the householder for having
a) a bad earth
b) more than 6v on the neutral...

the dutch manufacturer of the pcb doesnt like that.... bless em

For a local to fit, about £310. For Ideal on a fixed price repair £210.

For BG to replace, around £168. For you to buy, anything up to £220

I'll leave you to work it out ;)
