IDEAL MEXICO - HOT WATER BUT NO HEATING

If you followed my earlier link you will know I was trying to find the pump as I have hot water but no heating. Found it !!!! after taking the kitchen floor and the units apart. It is in a chimney alcove near the boiler.

When I turn on the heating the boiler fires and heats up. The pump feels hot, so does the pipe.

My question is how do I know whether it is the pump or something else wrong ? If it is the pump then I will get a qualified engineer out, but could it be something simple that I have missed. I would welcome your opinions.

When CH is on by itself, pump should be running - is that the case? If not sure, change speed on the pump and you will hear it stop/start. Or remove centre screw and insert screwdriver.

If not running then check for Live on terminal under plastic cover. Mains test screwdriver will do.

If in doubt, don't go in there.
