Ideal Mini C24: Intermittent Heating

Hi,

I have an Ideal Mini C24 Combi, around 8-9 years old and have a problem with the heating side, DHW is working fine.

When calling for heat the boiler will fire up and run for about 15-20 seconds before cutting out. Then, after about 10 seconds the boiler will reignite before running for about 15-20 seconds before cutting out again. It will repeat doing this for about 10 times and then stop. If I call for heat again (turn thermostat down and back up again), I can start the cycle again. Radiators are warmish but not as warm as usual.

Hot water is working fine all the time.

Any ideas as to what may be the problem?

Is there anything that may particularly cause the blockage? Do they have heat exchangers for the heating side?

Would it be worth adding some central heating cleaner and seeing if that works?
