the hw works fine,the ch is the prob.when it decides to work the 1 +2 floor rads are fine but the grounfloor rads arnt.2 rads in the dining rm are tepid at best the living rm is never on.the system has been power flushed and cleared of black oxide pump checked ok,cht checked ok i havent checked the three way valve or the fan yet but unsure if these could be the prob,olso i have pressure loss[i will find the leak] also wondered if it could be related to the old back bioler? im still finding things out as we havent been in our house long[its 60 yrs old]i also checked the pins on the board for correct position ok. the boiler has no service record.was thinking about buying a new combi[we had a worscester for years no probs at all]as i have been told the ideals arnt exactly reliable.many thanks rem 342

Have you tried turning off all the rads that are working and seeing if the problematic ones then get hot?
If they don't could be a sure sign of a blockage or a badly designed system. I had one last week were the installer placed the return from the ground floor into a tee from the first and the two would never run together. the customer had to turn off upstairs rads when downstairs and visa versa. Severval hours later and a fair bit of jiggery pokery and all is well

yes have done that,no joy .sounds like the most likely solution is trace the pipework under the flooring[oh joy] and check it out.i have a gut feeling the prob could be under the living rm floor,only one way to find out.sorry forgot to mention this the 2 floor is an extention i was toying with putting a 6mtr pump in as the os is a 5mtr.will check the pipe work out.cheers rem

this is a installation fault but as usual people blame ideal boilers,don't knoew why i'm bothering replying

Op the powerflush is suspect, get them back. if you had paid the proper price for a guaranteed result you wouldn't be in this mess.

As stated it is unrelated to the boiler, and it depends which Ideal boiler it is and then which generation of that boiler as to whether it is a "good" boiler.

I can't assure you that buying a Worcester Combi of today's design is wise.

Can you explain in detail what this "power flushing" entailed and which chemicals were used?

How was the pump "checked" ?

Was the system balanced after this "power flushing"?
