I have an old looking stone circle in an area of my garden surrounded by those nice white stones that turn green the day after you it them down, I want to refresh the area and I am looking for some inspiration please. The area is about 3M by 3M. I can’t do flagging and I already have decking and fake grass so I am looking for something different please. Pretty good at diy but not going to attempt flagging, is there something else I could do please?

Thanks for reading.

Do you have any photos, so we can get a better idea of the area?
For a rustic flooring, I've used carpet stones - they're heavy to handle on your own and quite expensive, but a doddle to lay and look great...

Here is a pic from a while ago, the bamboo’s have taken over a little in the raised borders.

What sub surface do they need please?
My base was simply the hardcore that was under a concrete slab.
I laid the carpet stones on a levelled layer of sand and brushed in a dry sand/cement mix into the gaps.
The base underneath your existing slabs is probably fine.

Official instructions here...

Thanks for the info pal, once brushed in does it set? Are they powerwashable?
Yes, it does set.
I don't know about power washing, but I was after a rustic look - I have left areas with gaps for soil and have let the moss grow in-between.
If you are after a pristine finish, these may not be for you! :)

What you have there is a circle of stones...a stone circle is a different kettle of corn.

In the name of all that's green and good, please don't power wash them. Allow nature to ramble around the edges and highlight the gaps. Better yet, take the chair and table away and allow the potted acer room to grow from the center of the circle.

Feng your shui and all will be well, Grasshopper.
