Identify broken part Miele W3240 washing machine

Hello, I took the front off our 2006 Miele W3240 to change the mouldy rubber gasket and was surprised to see a broken electrical connector under the drum. The machine is working fine. You can see from the photos that connector is quite corroded and must have been disconnected for some time. Can you tell me what that component is? Maybe related to a programme we never use!? Thanks a lot

That looks very much like the heating element to me!
I'm afraid your hot washes have been a little cooler than expected!

Cheers! We never use washes over 60 and almost all 40. Guess I'll clean it up, connect it up and see if anything blows :) Thanks for the link in case I need a new element, that's perfect (y)
