Immersion cap full of limescale

Hi

I would like to add an immersion element but the cap is full of limescale, do you think that it can still be removed successfully at this state?
If yes how would you go about doing it?

I would leave well alone! You can try treating with descale spray like limelight, but I reckon you will end up damaging the cylinder.
