Immersion Heater

Is it OK to wire a 3kW Immersion Heater (with 2.5mm T&E from 16A MCB to ?20A isolator) with 1m of 1.5mm (heat resistant) flex, or does it need to be 2.5mm???

All the wholesalers only seem to have 1.5mm on the shelf, and say it will be OK, but I just want to get a second opinion!

1.5mm flex is rated at 16 amps. If you want to fit 2.5mm flex you can get it here.
