lucky im in a patient mood today.

i know what you are saying, with it turned down to the lowest setting, the contacts should open so there should be no continuity....

even on the lowest setting.
if it bleeps then you'll need to check a power problem

sorry meant the highest setting

yes tested it 3 times again, still bleeped on lowest setting (and i agree, it shouldn't as the contacts should be open so no continuity).

what sort of power problem do you think it could be?

if its any help, the lowest setting is 40. it goes from 40 to 80! so the stat is saying the water is at at least 40 degrees c.

you'll need to check if your getting mains power to the stat
on your immersion switch on the wall has it got a red light ? and is it on ?

if your getting a bleep on the lowest setting your water in cylinder must be colder.

no light on the connection unit, i'll try continuity across the fuse though which is 13amp and in the unit next to the heater.

omg i am soooooooooooooooooo sorry for all this seco. the fuse was dead/blown or whatever! No continuity across it. Sorry for taking up your time and patience! :oops:

still dont get why the stat beeping on a low setting would have made a difference though.

if your stat is bleeping on 40 then the water must be colder as the stat is calling for heat.

change the fuse and you should hear the element working

let us know.
