immersion question

Hi

Just a quick question - I have recently bought a flat which has no central heating and an immersion tank for the HW. This worked fine up until today - i have checked the continuity of the cable from the timer and for some reason there is a break - the cable is buried in the wall.
Any ideas what could have caused - no work has been carried out on the property that I think could have caused this????

Have you accidentally switched it off at the switch in the kitchen or cellar head?

which wire is broken and between which 2 points? how exactly did you check continuity?
