I want to improve my garage floor. It's only used for storage, never for cars, they wouldn't fit down the side of the house.
I don't want to raise the level more than about 15 mm.
The floor is a concrete slab, plastic sheet then 2 inch screed.
Can anyone recommend a reasonable way to make it durable and add extra protection from any possible moisture coming up? I don't think there is a big damp problem but it's old and not perfect.
I'd quite like wickes fairly cheap cork tiles as it would work well with the cork boards in the kitchen.
The slab is fairly smooth and flat but I want to improve moisture levels and maybe lap the damp proofing up the walls to the dpc.
First thought was to put a plastic dpm sheet down, then ply, then tiles.
Is there a better/easier way for a similar cost? Or am I on the right track?
Thanks,
Carl.
