Hi,

I currently have an in-line extractor fan located in the roof-space above my bathroom.

I'm considering a loft conversion. Does this mean that I need to drill a hole in the wall of the bathroom to replace the in-line extractor?

Thanks

Does the ductwork run in the same direction as the joists?

The current joists are in-line I believe but the new floor would use joists resting in the webbing of steels so would run at 90° I believe.

Even if they were in-line there would still be the problem of locating the fan itself ☹️

If there is space for the duct between the joists, take out the inline fan, join the ducts together and put a wall fan on the ceiling where there is now a grill. Move the power cable from the inline fan to the new ceiling fan.
