In retrospect

Bottom line is that to decommission I should have got an RGI round to cap it off at the meter, but didn't due to an assumption that the main valve isolated the system sufficiently based on the actions of Transco at my previous property. :oops:

Mistake made, luckily no harm was done, lesson learnt. Thanks for clarifying the position fellas.

Just for your info, what happens if the ECV is letting by!, just turning off won't stop gas coming through the open pipe, therefore it's a job for an RGI to check and cap meter or pipe
