The subject line says it all really. This machine is about 3 and a bit years old. Any and all programs run normally at 40 degrees or below.

If I try to run a program (2, 3 or 4) at a temp above 40, it doesn't work properly.

The initial fill happens and the drum turns a few times, but then when it should do the main fill, it just hums in an "I'm jammed" sort of way.

The noise appears to come from behind the powder drawer.

Is it likely that this is connected with the installation of a newer combo boiler? (although it worked perfectly with the old "demand" boiler and actually I think it worked to begin with with this new one) -- I don't have a hot water tank and never have while the Indy's been installed by the way.

If not, what can I try please?

thanks in advance

sounds like no hot water coming in, check the hot fill hose, the hum your hear is the valve opening, it does no more becsuse its waiting to fill

How unbelievably stupid and annoying.

that's exactly what it was -- the guy who installed the boiler must've turned the little taps off to take the machine out while he was doing some pipework. He's obviously then tried to turn them back on again but broke the hotwater one off and couldn't be a*sed to get his pliers out.

should've checked it out myself properly before I asked, but never mind. washing at 40 is sposed to be better for the environment but it also turned all my whites a paler shade of grey ...

thanks for your help
