Indesit washing machine

Indesit washing machine today decided not to work on it's 'normal' programme. It's about 6yrs old and got stuck about 1/4 of it's way through the programme. Got it to the end of it's cycle, emptied/spun, removed items of clothing and tried again empty - still nothing. Started it empty on another shorter cycle and seemed to spring to life. Tried once more on it's 'normal' cycle and nothing happened again. Everthing else ie: water going in, pump, spin, slow spin etc seems ok on the shorter programme.

Possibly a faulty heater or thermostat. Check if the door glass is staying cold.
