Indesit WD10 broken door handle

HELP - i have broken the door handle of a friends washing machine, whilst it has clothes inside.

i have ordered a new handle but does anyone know of a way i can get the clothes out in the mean time?

Piece of string. Feed it in the edge of the door on the handle side, work both ends of the string round to the hinge side. Pull sideways and the door will open.
