Big 900 x 600 slab has a very annoying thicker corner which means that it’s not sitting level with the slabs around it, it’s about 6mm higher and very annoying. I am re-laying the customers existing slabs so we have no others.

I have bed it on mortar now but it’s obviously higher than the others

How do professionals deal with this situation?

Cheers

Not lay it and use for cuts.
If that's all you have there is not much you can do unless you want to try and chip it away, but that's not really possible.
If you grind it back it will show.

To resolve you need to replace it

Possible to lay upside down if other face is better?

If slabs are random size then maybe cut it so you can effectively bend it a tad.

Make sure customer is on board with what you do though.

India sandstone is ground flat with comb ridges on the back side ready to stick down..
Plus he will never get that up now bedded on a full mortar

Hi

I finished the project and found it challenging, it was sloped in both directions and was on a curve, the inner side being steeper than the longer side obviously

All in all it looks ok but there are 3 slabs thay have some definite lippage on. I started on the left (as you look at pic), set a string line on left edge from top of edging to the other side, and I kept the fall in line with the edging.

I repeated this as I went, but this created some lips on the slabs as the gradient wasn’t the same along the edging

Please can someone give me some tips on how a pro would tackle this job? How would you ensure the slabs are all following the correct gradients etc? Would you work row by row like I did?

Cheers
