If I use a direct hot water cylinder with an immersion only do I need to cap off the coil in and out or should I just leave open?

If you’re using an indirect cylinder, then presumably you’ll have a feed, or is this for cost purposes? If there’s a feed it’ll need capping, if it’s purely because it’s cheaper than a direct cylinder the they shouldn’t need capping.

Basically I picked up a cheap tank but don't have indirect heating for it.
