Hi,
I have bought a new property and inherited an ADT alarm system. I had been told be the seller that it had been disconnected, but it turns out this just meant that she's stopped the DD to ADT, so they don't come out when it goes off.
This was revealed to me when I accidentally nudged the console on the wall when painting and an alarm that could wake the dead went off. I tried every code I could think of (including asking the seller, but she doesn't know). I managed to run it off by both turning off the circuit (which also feeds the downstairs sockets), and disconnecting the backup battery.
I don't think I particularly need an alarm that calls ADT when it goes off. But it would be a shame to get rid of it.
Long story sorry - the question is just, can I somehow reset/find the code? I called ADT, but the most they would do is offer to sell a new system.
Do I need to find the system model in order to answer the above?
