Inline filter for electric shower

We`ve recently installed a simple electric shower, but the temperature fluctuates from freezing cold to boiling hot.I suspect that there is muck in the pipes, so need to install an inline filter.Any ideas where I can get one and if this is the right solution?

what shower is it ?
cycling hot/cold is useally a flow issue
has the shower a low pressure or flow light ?
