Hello, gang.
Have had a quick search but cannot find anything related here - even on Google...

It's a typical ice/water dispenser fridge with an inline filter that just push-fits to the pipe.
We've replaced them before and nearly always had trouble getting a mains flow.
I'm guessing it's air related?
Trouble is - Can't remember how we fixed it last time!!!

The old filter flows fast - so it's NOT anything related to the fridge, its workings or mains flow.;)

Any advice appreciated. :giggle:

What do you mean by mains flow?
The filter will always be a restriction to flow, by its very nature, that's how they work.

If the old one gave faster flow, it's likely because it was past it's useful life and was clogged so not filtering the water.

@dilalio Nope - that's why I thought best to mention it. It's always been a fast flow, otherwise you can never fill your glass.
We noticed how poor the water tasted now so we knew it was time to change it...
There's definitely a way around this - just wish I could remember. *facepalm*

What's the flow like, from the pipe, into a bucket, without the filter connnected?
Can you set this up?

Have you removed all bungs from the filter?

Filter correct orientation?

filters always have a flow direction on them but not sure it would restrict flow volume
most likely debris in the connection point but depending upon how hard your water is, it could be anywhere on that entire length
remove all pipes, clean, replace. Then you know you have a dodgy filter

Errr... the current (old) filter has a great flow, as I've mentioned.
The new one is a trickle... :(
I assumed it was air pocket or something?
It's like these - can I post links? :D

Errr.... You got 2 in the delivery... So try the other one.

If it's still poor then chances are you've bought cr@p off amazon. ;)

Nooo.... :D
That was only an example.
We have had many - but there has regularly been an issue with flow. \o/
I'm currently resting one submerged upright in water. We'll see how that goes.
Maybe it's also because they are cheap. ;)

Thanks anyway, @SpecialK :D
But it won't fix the ones we have - just annoying, if anything. ;)
I've yet to retest the latest effort...

Yeahhh, that makes no sense at all

When your shower is clogged with hair, does the water flow down the drain faster, or slower?

Well, it's working...
NOT full power (yet) but it's enough pressure to run the ice maker.
Left it soaking upright and actually sucked it through before connecting.

There HAS to be an easier way? :D

I've never had this problem with American fridges so, IMO it has to be with what what you've bought and are buying!

Genuinely don't experience any issues like this with either of the filters my appliances need. One is an inline and one connects to a socket in the fridge. Have you got another filter, perhaps even a different brand, to try?
