I'm not sure what is going on.

When I open an Opera web search page and type "b and m" to look for the stores, up pops a bing page and in the search bar is "and m". The "b" has disappeared.

It's as if the "b" is a shortcut to open a bing page.

I hate MS.

Any ideas?

Use another search engine or set one as your preference to replace bing

Hardly the fault of MS that Opera allow shortcuts to selected search engines via shortcut letters.

Type in Y and it will use Yahoo. D= duckDuckGo. Z=Amazon. B=bing. W=wikipedia. G=Google

Having just checked in the settings>search engine>manage search engines, you can select the radio button for "keyboard shortcut" = tab rather than tab or space. That will enable you to type in B and M without Bing searching for "and M"

Alternatively, type in "B and M" (with the quote marks) and it will ignore the browser shortcut key.

I cannot see how to remove the shortcuts, which makes me think that each of the firms listed above pay Opera for a shortcut.

How odd. Never had this issue before!!

Maybe there's been a software update I don't know about.
