I have power into my Garage Via my outside lighting circuit. Can i place the wire running into the garage to a Small Consumer unit and run of power via the different fuses to lights and more sockets.

no. a lighting circuit wil be fused at 5 or 6 amps, which is sufficient for lighting but not for sockets.

A brave assumption - it should be fused at that level but based on many DIY projects I've seen I wouldnt be surprised at a 13A fuse in the FCU or at least that in the MCB. I'd like to check the CSA of the cable as well.

Supplying sockets from a light circuit is a very bad and unsafe practice.

As mentioned; each type of load (light and power) have different characteristics and different cable size, MCB/Fuse size and a different disconnection time requirement.
