Hi all
My mother in law currently has a coal fire with a back boiler thing. Some rooms have radiators - others don't and get pretty cold. She's getting on a bit now and we really worry about her going to the coal house and she's also about to start home based dialysis. We really want her to get GCH.
Problem is she's terrified of gas - no logical reason but she just won't entertain the idea. The house doesn't even have a gas connection although all houses around her do - it was a self build 40 years ago.
The house does have a detached garage so I'm thinking maybe we can persuade her to get the gas and boiler installed in the garage and run water pipes under the path between garage and house. Obviously this means she couldn't have a gas fire but doubt she'd want that anyway.
Does this sound feasible - is it possible to have the boiler is a physically separate building or is this going to be too much hassle?
Thank you.
Ian
