Hi all I have just had a electrician to fit a new wifi thermostat but we can't seen to get the control box to communicate to the boiler
The boiler is a glow worm -BETACOM 3 30C

'We', as in you and the electrician, can't get the box to communicate with the boiler?

Are you replacing an existing thermostat?
If so, the thermostat may have been 24V switching, or 230V mains switching. It would not be good if they were mixed up!

The wiring on the boiler is straightforward and troubleshooting a dodgy receiver should also be straightforward - perhaps you need a new electrician! ;)

Edit:
Found a manual for the 'Heating Thermostat'

If your Broadband router is modern, it will have two different paswords and adresses, you can only use the 2.4GHZ setup the default is usually the 5.0 GHZ

Broadband side is all good thanks
So the 2 wires from con & No go into the 24v switching not the ebus ?

that is your problem remove the red link in 24v switching and put the wires in there not the ebus
:)

Yes, the connections from "Com" - common and "NO" - Normally Open, connect to the 24V/RT connections on the boiler.

The ebus connection is there for thermostats that 'talk' to the boiler through a serial data link, not just the on and off switching, that your new receiver uses.

you can only use the 2.4GHZ setup the default is usually the 5.0 GHZ
...and a lot of the default setups have both bands sharing the same SSID - that's where many problems start :(

just out of interest, did you supply this stat or was it supplied as part of the boiler install ?
