hi im new to this so any help would be appreciated
I am installing a cloakroom suite at the moment, the toilet is not a problem as there is an isolating valve where i can shut off the cold feed to it.
The basin is a bit differant, their is no isolating valve on either the cold or hot water supply to it. The cold water is supplied to it via the mains.
As far as i can work out i will need to shut off the mains and drain down the cold water supply to the basin, as far as the hot water supply is concerned i will need to drain down the entire system or at least bung the cold feed tank and drain from that point down.
As this would mean emptying the cylinder is it best that i turn off boiler.
My reasoning behind this is im concerned that the boiler will still be trying to heat the water in the cylinder which will obviously be empty - and im not sure whether ths will affect the cylinder in any way.
sorry if this sounds a bit daft
thanks
