And what about issues such as required clip distances and the type of fittings to be used? Pressure/tightness testing does not cover these aspects.
Part P advice is given out because the forum allows it, however it's a forum rule that we don't give out advice on gas work to DIYers beyond telling them to get an RGI in

Lol, seriously? A competent electrics / electronics engineer will have forgotten more than you will ever know, and if you do both, you should be intelligent enough to know better.
