Cold is mains and hot is from a combi?

You have a hidden part missing Bingo. The deck valves connect to the bath filler via a mixer. This has a 3/4" connection to "spout" and 1/2" connections to the hot and cold deck valves "taps".
You should not merge the supplies, the brass mixer does this for you. go back to the showroom kick up a fuss and you may get some discount
