OK so I shouldn't have had a conservatory - I should have had a solid roof

It is cold in winter - I think I have the hot in summer sorted

Can I insulat the roof - current ideas are
1) Paint it white internally
2) Paint it white externally
3) Line the roof with tin foil
4) stick polystyrene tiles on the inside

I already have drapes - can anyone make any better suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Or use bubble plastic either on inside pinned or glue to frames or draped on outside...I lived on a tiny boat for some time and we "insulated it with cork tiles on inside and old carpet and bubble plastic on outside..

or you could go down the local tip and get some old carpet to nail to the ceiling. that would look shocking too.

I was hoping for something a little more asethitically pleasing.......at least cork could be painted white :)

Im actually doing somehting like this for my mother in law.

We are going to remove the glass and put MDF in its place. Put battons on the top, add some insulation, a bit of play wood and make it into a real roof.
