This may be a daft question however I have a massive hot water tank in the loft (I have no idea how the previous owners got it through the loft hatch) that takes the output from my coal back boiler. The water tank heats up first and then a pump switches on once that's warm to circulate the water to the radiators.
I was hoping to insulate the hot water tank however none of the tank jackets in b and q etc seem big enough for it but I have a few spare rolls of loft insulation...
Can I just wrap this round the hot water tank securely? The tank has a thin layer of foam on it already but you can feel the warmth through the tank.
Also the tank has a back up immersion heater in it as well for summer use if that matters in way.
Cheers,
David.
