Hi all
I am about to insulate about 2/3 of my garage into a fish house, but i am going to insulate the garage floor that is concrete.Been doing some reading and there are 2 methods that i can go down first is putting down 2x4joists on the floor then insulating in between with polystryene and covering with 22mm caber flooring screwed to the joists ,or if i read correctly putting polystryene straight on to the floor and then just laying the caber flooring on top so doing away with putting the joists down a floating floor is what i think they call it , would this method be advisable or should i go with putting joists onto the concrete floor.

you can do either. a rigid foam board insulation would be better.

you can even buy insulation bonded t&g floor boards than can be 'floated' straight onto the concrete.

this is useful.

Hi noseall
Is there an online website that sells insulation bonded t&g floor boards .

Out of interest seeing as i will be putting tanks in there would the poly and caber flooring 22mm be strong enough to hold all the weight ,if i go with just laying poly straight on to the floor followed by the caber flooring.
