Hi
I have a side extension to the kitchen with a pitched roof. There appears to be about 75mm of loft insulation above the plaster board. With 8 poorly fitted downlighters the thermal insulation of this ceiling is quite poor.
I wish to improve it.
Im thinking of simply adding 100mm of celotex or similar, maybe a thinner foil as an alternative, below the existing ceiling and boarding over and refitting the downlighters. The alternative would be to remove the existing plasterboard and start again, which will prove very messy.
Just wondering what your thoughts are on this??
Thanks in advance,
C
