Hi,

I want to put some sound insulation between the ground and first floor to try and reduce the passage of noise between a living room and bedroom. One of my concerns is that along one of the joists runs the cable to feed the electric cooker. This is a 6mm cable. Has anyone any ideas on how best to approach this. Could I just build a frame around this so that the insulation goes no where near it ( creating a void ). If this sounds sensible then how much gap would I need to provide.

Thanks

Steve
