right i have just bought my first house and going round room by room doing it up.

going to line all the out side walls with 50mm of insulation on top of the old lathe and plaster walls just to make things easier.

was going to use king span but when looking online found Kingspan/ Celotex / Xtratherm. Are they just brands of the same thing or actually different?

Cheers.

I have an 1920's ish house, which I internally-insulated with:

drill-and-plugged exterior-treated 1 1/2" battens, with 50mm polystyrene sheets (from Wickes), then boarded over, and had skimmed. I then fitted new coving and skirting boards.
Made a huge difference to the warmth of the house. Good luck to you.
