I have a Honeywell Flex alarm panel installed and am playing with home assistant. Is there any way to link them together ?

With the SelfMon virtualisation module 'vmod' you can control and gain zone information on the Galaxy Honeywell range of panels.

This enables online http keypad, keypad via MQTT, zones and outputs via MQTT and more. There's no ties to any cloud platform, so you will not be held over a barrel with any fee increases and it keeps working during broadband outages.

The benefit of using the alarm is that it's generally wired in already, so you can gain presence detection without adding additional sensors, wires, RF devices, Etc. The alarm just passes on any movement detection to MQTT and any MQTT compatible client can pick up that information. The same goes with controlling outputs - you can control the panel outputs by setting an MQTT topic, giving you full control of anything that has a push button or switch. I hadn't used MQTT until about a year ago, but think that it's already the standard for intercommunication between devices. It's fully open, so there's no reason for any connected device not including a client.

Great. Have ordered the module and signed up to the facebook group. Looking forward to getting the MQTT working and some of the example cards that the group have created. Especially the keypad.

Yes, the home assistant mqtt based keypad card by one of the group members is pretty neat

All up and running. Amazing. Loving node-red with Alexa controlling the alarm and its outputs.
