Interconnected smoke alarms

Hi Guys,

Which sensor type should I use in the loft? I have a fair amount of electrical equipment here and want to guard against any electric fires. Thanks in advance.

A good question. I've still got to stick a detector in the loft but was also unsure what type:

* Heat - it gets pretty hot in a loft in summer. Alarms trigger at something like 60 degrees. There's a good chance of false alarms.
* Optical - it's pretty dusty in a loft. Dust in the sensor chamber is likely to result in false alarms.
* Ionisation - again dust, loft, false alarms.

I would also like input on this one!
