Intergas Error 4

In an old (2015) post someone who had error 4 for an intergas HRE was asked (by Dan Robinson) if he had had electrical work done.

I have got boiler with this error and had the heating/hot water programmer exchanged last week (and will sooner or later have to make another similar change).

Dan, would you mind letting me know why this fault might appear after electrical work?

If they disconnected, or poorly attached the earth, this could happen.

Can think of two occasions where this happened to one of our clients.

How do they set the threshold for a poor earth? With TT systems, the earth impedance could be significantly higher. Do they give guidance in the installer manual?
