Interior Glass Door - fire/safety regs?

I would like to have a full glass door between my kitchen and hallway in order to allow light through.

1. What are the regs regarding safety glass for this?
2. What are the regs for fire?

I don't want the metal lines inside the glass for obvious reasons.

A half hour fire door is the norm in this situation. You cannot make your own fire doors BTW. If you want clear glass it will be very expensive, fire resistant glass is megabucks!

I found out that Pilkington have 3 types of fire glass. Mega bucks.... sigh.

A fire door is not required unless the OP lives in a flat in a three-storey or higher building

Safety glass can be toughened or laminated

2 examples we have just fitted.

8 pieces no bigger than 450 x 800 we fitted cost £ 800

3 pieces we have on order fitted £approx 200 x 1.7 £650ish

You will also have to find out if you need integrity and insulation

Basement flat of a 3 storey house. Size could be 2000mm x 762mm. whatever the standard sizes are.
