I've had a wood door casing fitted for double doors to partition the room. My plan was to fit two 27" doors, the fitter has fitted the liner and it measures 54 1/2" theres also another which is around 54 3/4" wide.

What width should the casing be for two 27" doors, is this ok?

Thanks

Your descriptions a bit confusing, are you saying that the liner fitted is 54" long and 1/2" thick? and what's it fitted to and what's it made of.
Where does the "54 3/4" come in??

The liner is already rebated. The space between each door jamb for the french doors is 54 1/4" wide. The doors are 27" wide each, so 54" for the pair. Are the frame/liners normally fitted to 54" for x2 27" doors, how much clearance is normally needed, will 54 1/2" be ok?

Thanks
