Can anybody give me some advice??
I would like to know if it is possible to remove an internal wall that has a chimney in it? I believe the wall is load bearing, it has a wall above it and obviously a chimney continuing into the loft. It is not a partly wall, it is adjacent to an outer wall and a wall that runs the width of the house. The property is a terrace house - separating the living room and dining room.
If it is possible then does anyone have any idea approx how much it would cost?

Any idea how much approx?

I would possibly take the chimney out on the first floor as well depending on how much extra it would cost.

No less than 2k, could be as much as 5k, or even more (I see you're in Sussex).

Thanks for that - does the cost go up alot if I take the chimney out on the first floor? It just seems that if you are going to remove a chimney you may as well remove it from the bedrooms as well?

Yes I am in Sussex - are you local?

The price will go up if you are taking the chimney out, yes, as it's a lot more work (removal and disposal of stack, breast etc). This will also affect the size of the steel you would need for the supporting load.

Not local no. Just pointing out that the cost down south is going to be a lot more than up t'north.
