I'm using the above to prime kitchen doors, but for a top coat it says use "good quality gloss or satin". The paint I want to use is B&Q's waterbased satin but I don't know if it will be hard wearing enough? Does this count as good quality?

Or should I use an oil based top coat? The primer is waterbased.

Many thanks. :D

most of their products say to use an oil based top coat, but I have emulsioned over their wipe on multisurface primer with no problems. I think the wipe on multisurface primer is suitable for melamine anyway.

Alfie, I have several tins of waterbased paints. DOH! DOH! DOH! DOH! Yep, that many. Poor colour, especially white, poor brushing dries too quick and about as hard wearing as ush Puppies on mountaineer.

Maybe others have a diff experience but I say sod the environment and lets use oil based.......
