I'm not very happy with my supplier BT. Mainly because when I have a problem there is no way that I can speak to them. I have broadband which is supposed to be wireless through Netgear. It doesn't work we have to be plugged in while using it. It also comes up as unsecure without that little padlock. Am thinking of maybe changing to another supplier. Has anyone tried Sky with tv channels included, are thery any good. Grateful for any feedback.

My brother has Sky, plus phone plus TV. It works out a fairly reasonable price and he seems to get on OK with it. He's never off of xBox Live and it works all the time, so that's the important thing (I've probably just jinxed him!). The only downside I guess is that he's restricted to a 2mb connection and they have a 40gb monthly download limit.

I'm with Tiscali on a 2mb connection and unlimited usage - until you actually use it loads, then you get a snotty e-mail from them reminding you about their fair user policy!! I've kept saying I'm going to change, but to be honest, apart from a little spate of problems a month ago, they've actually been OK - just don't ever try to contact their helpline - you get through OK, but there can be communication problems!!

chances are that the router and broadband are working fine but that the wireless router needs setting up by someone who knows what there doing,we have virgin broadband and they set us as far as the incoming connection, from the router onwards its deemed are your problem to set up and not theres so you may have problems with another supplier.

You have broadband access so the problem is not BT. You have not set up the wireless part of your netgear kit. The padlock only shows that the site you are accessing is secure - NOT that your end is! Read the netgear manual!

you will need to http:// into the netgear wireless router and add in a section your BT username and password so that the router itself can connect the the service. once that is done any connection to the router should be easy via DHCP access.

The default http access is normally http://192.168.0.1
enter this in your browser with the router on and connected to your machine by an ethernet cable.
