Hi

I'm in the process of installing a intruder system.
The panel is going in my airing cupboard. Whats you thoughts on taking the feed from the emmersion heater/ boiler spur.

Am i right in saying this is normal practice when doing domestic installs,

My 2nd option is to take the feed from my ground floor socket circuit but thats more work

Thanks

Control panel can get hot if installed in airing cupboard .The battery will not like the constant high temperature and you will need to replace your battery on a regular basis.
Ring main would be better than immersion or you could use lighting circuit from loft ?

DO NOT fit panel in the airing cupboard. Reason, as above. The battery WILL get too hot, will mean a new one every year, if not before.

The only way you will know is when something goes wrong with the alarm. usually at silly o'clock and you can't stop it.

ps DO connect only to the ring main via a 3amp fused spur

A local alarm company installs in the air cupboard, not a good idea as outlined above.

I aware it may get warm, i have the option to site it outside the cupboard,

I'll probably come off the socket now.

Thanks
