SIGHT is the perception of light. What you see all around you is light being reflected off objects. Look at your desk. You are seeing light reflected at your eyes, in a wood sort of colour (probably)! Look at the ceiling, you are seeing white light being reflected back at you. If there is NO light, there is no sight. A black object appears black because light does not reflect off it.

Having just read page 2, can you HEAR a plane travelling away from you at the speed of sound?

The doppler effect can also be experienced when an ambulance or police car passes with its sirens on.
