I have a 22mm hot water pipe that is iron, there is a compression tee, that has 22mm copper out and 15mm copper on the T. This is now leaking, can I use a plastic or copper pushifit tee to fix this problem, I'm never sure if u can use these with old iron piping (Its not possible to repalce the old piping, hidden under new floor !!!!)

Compression fittings will fit though you might have to us a 3/4 olive instead of a 22mm on the iron.

Thanks for the Info about using a 3/4 olive. Is there anything else special about fitting an Iron pipe into a compression fitting that I need to take care of

I have always wrapped ptf tape around the olive as well because they can be a bit loose but are fine when tightened.
My wife says the pink one suits me :p

You cant use compression on iron pipe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It must be the pink PTFE thats giving you these ideas

If you are able really clean the iron pipe, and "tin" it with a thin coating of solder, I think that you will find that the olive will crush and bite the pipe quite well.

In 23 years of plumbing I have never seen a compression fitting on iron pipe, Maybe screwed but not compression.
