Hi All, I need some help....
I am refitting my kitchen and have had a couple of electricians in to give me quotes. Both are aware that I am wanting this work carried out mid July.
The first guy didn't mention anything about RCD protecting been a requirement, yet the second guy did, and went as far as to say he'd recommend a new CU, after taking a look at my CU (i live in a 19 year old property).
My question is; who is right? Also I read that if you design the circuit before 1st July then you can get around this? I am really confused if the first guy is just not that well informed, or if the second guy is trying to get whatever he can out of me.
Its probably worth noting that there is not actually a "new" circuit anywhere, it will be simply additions and changes to existing cooker/lighting/ringmain.
Thanks in advance
Paul
