How can I tell if a wall is load bearing.

at the end of my kitched I have an opening wich houses a small utility room. The wall is about 4' from the end wall and is only single block. The joist above run from one end of the kitchen to the end wall running over the wall in question, but it doesnt look as though it is holding the joist up.

the things to look out for (if you had a loft hatch! ) would be the joists joining on this wall (unlikely), or the wall carrying on up to the underside of a purlin. (even more unlikely)

I have drawn sketch onto a word document. How do I attach it to a post??[/code]
